Tracy has brought an exceptional level of organisation and team morale to ITS, making her an invaluable asset to the company. Her ability to maintain an excellent rapport with customers is one of her standout qualities, ensuring that every interaction is positive and professional. Tracy’s colleagues and clients alike admire her dedication and infectious enthusiasm, which have significantly contributed to a collaborative and motivated work environment.

Tracy has always been a passionate football fan, with her love for sporting heroes tracing back to her teenage years. At 14, she became obsessed with Chris Waddle, and her admiration for football stars has evolved through the decades. In the ’90s, it was David Beckham who stole her heart and continues to hold a special place in her home. Nowadays, Jack Grealish has the power to make her feel all giddy.

After finishing school, Tracy attended Bournville College, where she studied Food & Hygiene, passing all her courses with flying colours, particularly excelling in Pastry and Desserts. To fund her weekends and her car, she took up part-time work as a silver service waitress. Her culinary skills landed her a position as a pastry chef in an exquisite restaurant in Belbroughton. However, Tracy eventually left the kitchen behind to help run the family business, selling and installing fireplaces. She managed the Bromsgrove showroom while her sister oversaw the Sutton Coldfield branch, with their dad and uncles handling the installations.

Tracy’s love for the open road led her to become a delivery driver for ICL Ltd, a professional photographic company. This role was perfect for her, allowing her to be out and about, meeting new people every day. She then spent 13 years at IAC managing a large, multimillion-pound automotive customer account, before moving on to ITS, where she further honed her skills in sales and management.

When she’s not working, Tracy enjoys attending gigs—recent highlights include JLS, McFly, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Justin Timberlake. She also indulges in her guilty pleasures, such as watching Home and Away and Love Island, reading soppy love stories, and exploring the universe’s mysteries.

Tracy loves nothing more than spending time with family and friends, whether it’s on holidays, girlie weekends, or just socialising. She may not have a long list of accolades, but she’s proud of being an independent, happy, and healthy individual, a cool auntie, and an awesome friend. And after a night out, she always manages to wake up exactly where she’s meant to be (there are more stories we could tell here – but we’ll leave those for another time!), ready for the next adventure.

We recently had the pleasure of assisting a customer in designing a high-precision weighing system for an R&D plant, specifically for weighing powders in a hopper. The challenge was ensuring accuracy despite uneven weight distribution, as the powders tend to form mounds.

As the UK distributor for Eilersen Electric Digital Systems A/S, we collaborated closely with both the customer and supplier via Teams to develop a solution.

We proposed a three-beam load cell setup, mounted at 120° intervals, to effectively counteract any negative effects of uneven loading. This configuration delivers exceptional accuracy, with measurements precise up to 0.025%.

The customer also needed a local weighing terminal for real-time visual monitoring and PLC feedback. Eilersen provided a perfect solution with their LCD weighing module, enclosed in a robust 304 stainless steel control panel. They even supplied full CAD models for the load cells and control panel, allowing the customer to seamlessly integrate them into their existing CAD drawings before ordering.

We’re thrilled to have been part of this project, ensuring top-notch product quality and precision!

Aseptic Sampling System: Why Consistent Test Results are Important

An reliable aseptic sampling system is critical for the quality control process in the liquid processing industries, as one of QualiTru’s customers in the yeast-fermented beverage business (Brewery) found out when they faced a specific problem with their samples.

Customer problem: Inconsistent results from quality samples

Of course, the QualiTru team took on the challenge of solving the vexing problem of inconsistent test results from aseptic sampling. Why?

Providing customers with equipment and services for accurate and representative sampling is what QualiTru do and they are passionate about helping customers meet quality and business goals.

Inconsistent sampling results when testing for bacterial contamination

The customer’s high-sugar content fermentable product is good for both yeast and bacteria, but it’s not a good combination if you are making a high-quality drink.

As part of their quality check process, the brewery routinely sampled and cultured the final clean-in-place (CIP) rinse water to ensure no bacterial contamination remained in the system.

However, the test results recorded were inconsistent and looked like random noise—some results showed high levels of bacteria while others showed low levels.

The existing aseptic sampling system raised more questions

Regular quality checks were necessary to make critical business and operational decisions. Here’s the problem though, how can you make good decisions if you get sampling results that are inconsistent, essentially random noise?

Because of this problem, some questions needed to be answered first. Do you…

•…spend the time and money to run another cleaning cycle?

•…spend the time and money to tear the system down to isolate the contamination—not knowing if it even exists?

•…take your chances and run the next batch of the product?

Identifying the source of inconsistent test results

The QualiTru team sampling experts took the time to evaluate the current quality and sampling process. They discovered the problem was all too common and a typical one— the sanitary valve to capture a final CIP rinse water sample. Their existing process told them about the valve and the container, but not about their system.

There were really two problems:

1.The valve used was not aseptic

2.The collection container was not sterilised

Aseptic and representative sampling solution for consistent test results

QualiTru proposed a solution that produced an aseptic and representative sample of the final CIP rinse water. As a result of implementing this solution, the previous method’s random noise (spikes) was replaced with data that showed very few spikes.

With the new process in place, an elevated test result was a positive indication that some level of contamination still existed in the system. The customer now had more reliable data and precise indications than just random noise.

QualiTru aseptic and representative sampling solution for their application included the following products:

•TS7 Butt Weld Tee 2”

•TruStream7 Septa

•TruStream 250ml/18g

Accurate sampling data = Informed business decisions

The breweries management could now make better and more informed decisions using accurate data from the consistent test results. These decisions included no longer having to run unnecessary CIP cycles, tearing down parts of the system to search for something that wasn’t there, or taking chances on the quality of their final product.

QualiTru are proud to not only have an impact on their bottom line by saving them time and money, but we also helped to protect their brand reputation.

As we like to say, “Your Test Result is Only as Accurate as Your Sample.”
