We recently had the pleasure of assisting a customer in designing a high-precision weighing system for an R&D plant, specifically for weighing powders in a hopper. The challenge was ensuring accuracy despite uneven weight distribution, as the powders tend to form mounds.
As the UK distributor for Eilersen Electric Digital Systems A/S, we collaborated closely with both the customer and supplier via Teams to develop a solution.
We proposed a three-beam load cell setup, mounted at 120° intervals, to effectively counteract any negative effects of uneven loading. This configuration delivers exceptional accuracy, with measurements precise up to 0.025%.
The customer also needed a local weighing terminal for real-time visual monitoring and PLC feedback. Eilersen provided a perfect solution with their LCD weighing module, enclosed in a robust 304 stainless steel control panel. They even supplied full CAD models for the load cells and control panel, allowing the customer to seamlessly integrate them into their existing CAD drawings before ordering.
