Born in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton in 1980, John moved to Redditch in 1984 and spent his formative years under the loving guidance of his mum, gran, and grandad. His early career was a mix of flipping burgers and TV fame—working at McDonald’s from 1997 to 1999 where he proudly earned his 5 stars, then briefly at a local pub until 2000. During this time, John also dabbled as a TV extra, making fleeting appearances in beloved shows like Holby City, Casualty, Dangerfield, and even an Eastenders spin-off about Nick Cotton. He has a special memory of sharing a group scene with the legendary Bob Hoskins in one of his films!
After high school, John pursued an HND in Computing at college for two years, which paved the way for his next chapter. From 2002 to 2004, he worked as a storeman at Morgan Advanced Materials in Redditch, contributing to the creation of carbon and ceramic seals for renowned clients like John Crane and Roplan.
In 2004, John began a nine-year journey with WEG Electric Motors, starting in the order processing department and eventually advancing to front line sales, with a brief stint as the low voltage contracts coordinator for specials. This period was both professionally fulfilling and personally significant, as in 2009, John met his wife, Liz. They married in 2011, initially setting up home in Kingsbury near Tamworth before moving to Overseal near Swadlincote in 2017. Together, they have a lively ten-year-old son named Rhys and a dog called Bear, who keep their lives bustling. Rhys is autistic, and John spends considerable time understanding his condition, ensuring he has all the support he needs to thrive.
Since January 2014, John has been part of the team at ITS, paying particular attention to honing his skills in hygienic pumps with various training opportunities and providing an excellent service to our UK and Export customers.
Outside of work, John channels his energy into running, proudly racing distances from 5k to marathons with Tamworth Athletics Club. His marathon personal best stands at an impressive 2:52!
In his leisure time, John is an avid cinephile with a modest Blu-ray collection and subscriptions to all the major streaming services. His passion for music sees John attending gigs occasionally and is steadily growing a cherished record collection. Reading is another great love of John’s, with a penchant for both fiction (science fiction, thrillers, horror, fantasy) and non-fiction (history, science, and works about films and music). Last but not least, John is a dedicated wrestling enthusiast, tuning in to WWE every week.
