Meet Our Team – Liza Lavender – Sales, Marketing and Business Operation Manager

Liza, who lives in Solihull with her daughter, has built a successful career in marketing, a path she discovered after initially aspiring to be a social worker. Her professional journey began at a British firearms manufacturer, where she quickly discovered her passion for marketing. She went on to refine her expertise within the engineering and manufacturing sectors, spanning automotive, HVAC, food, beverage, and pharmaceutical process equipment markets. Determined to excel, she balanced her career with open study for a Business (Marketing) degree with ARU —all while managing the responsibilities of full-time work and motherhood.

Beyond her professional life, Liza has been a dedicated Scout leader for over 22 years, currently running a Beaver group in Solihull. Known for her exceptional organisational skills, she is both respected and affectionately teased by her colleagues, who sometimes call her “bossy.” However, this strong leadership is precisely what makes her an effective guide for young people and a respected figure at ITS.

In 2022, Liza’s dedication to fostering positive work environments earned her a spot as a finalist for the Business Culture Ambassador award. Her passion for process improvement, bolstered by her Six Sigma Green Belt certification, has made her an advocate for introducing automation and enhancements that drive business efficiency and profitability. She excels in transforming workplaces into more effective and enjoyable environments.

Liza’s interests are diverse. A history enthusiast, she has a particular fascination with the Tudor era, which fuels her love for visiting castles and historical sites. She also enjoys the escapism found in a good book, period dramas, and medical series. She also finds peace in the natural world, often mesmerized by the sight and sound of thunder and lightning storms or just sitting to watch the world go by.

Music is another of Liza’s passions. With an appreciation for all genres, she holds a special fondness for R&B and Eminem. Dancing is her way to unwind and lose herself in the rhythm. Currently, Liza is channelling her creativity into publishing her first children’s book, inspired by her own phobia of spiders. Through this project, she aims to teach children to overcome their fears and find beauty in things that may initially seem frightening.

In her personal time, Liza enjoys scenic walks and swimming, balancing her active lifestyle with moments of tranquillity. An avid traveller, she embraces new cultures and cuisines, savouring these experiences with her family and friends. Despite her professional accomplishments, she maintains a childlike sense of wonder and joy, always eager for new experiences. This youthful spirit also shines through in her dream of one day running her own sweet shop and tea rooms, sharing her love for sweets and bringing joy to others.
