Peter, a renowned expert in valves, is best known for his close association with Alfa Laval and his role as the Founder of Industrial Trading Solutions. Born in Birmingham in 1947 and raised in the Midlands, Peter’s early passion for badminton saw him triumph in the Birmingham Schools Championships, leading to a spot in the Warwickshire County squad. His love for the sport extended to coaching, where he founded a club for young players in Solihull, including his sons Andrew and Matt.
Peter’s career began in insurance, but a quest for greater fulfilment led him to the valve industry in 1966 with Peter Marshall Valves, later known as Pegler & Louden. Rising to the position of Sales Director, Peter was instrumental in expanding the company’s product lines, notably introducing four specialist divisions Industrial Valves, Offshore, Incon and Hygienic Divisions, into the market.
1986 Peter established Alfa Laval Flow in the UK, assembling a talented team from Pegler’s hygienic division. His work with Alfa Laval took him across the globe, from managing sales & marketing development globally from Denmark, Then leading to international marketing development in the Flow Division, as Vice President of Marketing and finally president of the Valve Division for Alfa Laval.
After a two-year return to Pegler & Louden as Managing Director, Peter ventured into consultancy – founding Dextera UK Ltd. This period saw him diversify his expertise, including roles in Broady Valves, Flowstar (UK) Ltd, JO JO (Cable Reels) and VEKSO in the UK, and many other companies from Israel, Denmark and Ireland with management support and marketing development.
In 2002, Peter founded Industrial Trading Solutions Ltd, a leading supplier of hygienic products and services. Now semi-retired, Peter enjoys life alongside his loving wife Valerie, their two sons, and four grandchildren. Celebrating his Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2019, Peter’s journey is marked by a blend of professional success and family dedication, with a continued drive that steers the company towards greater growth new products and innovation.
